Prix Dylan Cattiaux

The Optomechanics & Nanomechanics thesis award “Dylan Cattiaux” is a prize introduced by the GdR MecaQ, in 2021. This annual award aims at rewarding the outstanding thesis work from a young researcher who did graduate her/his PhD in a France-based research group, in one of the topics covered by the GdR. The award consists of publishing the thesis manuscript of the awardee in a periodic volume at EDP Sciences, plus a substantial personal prize money. The prize is officially supported by the French Physical Society and the French Optical Society.

For this first 2021 edition, the prize has been awarded to Dylan Cattiaux for observing the quantum ground state of vibration of a solid state mechanical resonators and describing the associated thermodynamic properties. The prize has been presented to Dylan's family by the President of the Jury Antoine Heidmann at the ceremony on Monday 15th November 2021.

For the 2022 edition, the Jury of the thesis prize "Dylan Cattiaux" is glad to award Samantha Sbarra for her works on the analysis of individual nanodroplets and nanoparticles through a semiconductor optomechanical sensorSamantha has received the "Dylan Cattiaux" prize during a ceremony at the GDR MecaQ meeting in Bordeaux on Thursday 6th, October 2022.

For the 2023 edition, the Jury of the thesis prize "Dylan Cattiaux" is glad to award Anne Rodriguez for her works on the "Brillouin scattering in optophononic heterostructures working at ultrahigh acoustic frequencies"Anne will receive the "Dylan Cattiaux" prize during a ceremony at the GDR MecaQ meeting in Lille on Monday 9th, October 2023.
